Second Life®

I discovered Second Life in 2009 when I watched the physicist Michio Kaku in a BBC Four documentary of 2007, Visions of the Future.  Michio Kaku spends quite some time talking about virtual worlds and the world of Second Life. He shows how to become an avatar to enter the Second Life world, demonstrating how he was able to change his appearance, to fly or to teleport to other places, those things that are like dreams in the real life.

I was absolutely impressed with everything that this magnificent physicist showed about a game on the internet, with his effusive and particular way of explaining things. And they even showed how some avatars that were known through the game of Second Life, fell in love and did everything possible to get to know each other personally in real life and how some of those couples ended up marrying. They showed the different sites (sims) of Second Life, cities, beaches, incredible places.

As I said before: I was pleasantly impressed. In such a way that I jumped from TV to PC to find what was "Second Life". And poff! I was trapped by the magic of this "second life" until today.

Second Life.  Well we call Second Life also Secondlife, SL, our other world, etc., but, better we refers to official and good pages that explain better than me what really is Second Life.

First we have the official web page, where we can find all information we need to know about:  Second Life where we will find how to create an avatar and download the official game viewer.

Daniel Voyager's Blog has in his blog a good summary about Second life history.

Second Life keeps updated the information of all destination inworld with tools for search it based on on the classification of each place.

In other side Strawberry.singh has a great tutorial called Second Life™ Newbie Resource.

Finally we have a amazing viewer alternative to play in Second Life that is Firestorm. The inworld (inside the game) Support Group of Firestorm is incredible supportive.  The WIKI is a wonderful help to consult in case of any doubt. I use Firestorm and before the Phoenix version of them.

For some special cases, there are other light versions of viewers that can be find updated in the Third Party Viewer Directory - Second Life Wiki

Second Life is a free game with a lot of options that can be free or not, it is up to you.

If you have not yet joined to this incredible world, I hope you can do it soon and enjoy it as we all do.

Have a great time!.
